Best Wine Event 2025 -Fédération Française des Vins d’ Apéritif : L’apértif du patrimoine
The 2025 European Heritage Days will be marked by two events:
Recognition of the Avenue de Champagne in Épernay (a UNESCO site) as a cultural landmark joining the Iter Vitis cultural network, and the national “Apéritif du Patrimoine” operation led by the Maison des Vins et Spiritueux.

Representatives of tourism development agencies, museums and interpretation centers, wine trade associations, the federation of aperitif wines and spirits met in Nîmes on April 3 and 4, 2025. This General Meeting provided an opportunity to strengthen exchanges between the network’s players and pursue joint actions to promote European wine heritage and cultural itineraries.
In Pays d’Oc, a wine-growing region with a thousand-year-old heritage, a shared dynamic with IGP Pays D’OC and a commitment to passing on this heritage have enabled wineries with cultural characteristics linked to the “historic wine routes” Via Domitia and the Canal du Midi to be listed.

A major archaeological site from the Gallo-Roman era, Elusa, ancient capital, is a living witness to the thousand-year history of winegrowing in southwestern France.
Its integration into the Iter Vitis network offers a unique opportunity to highlight the intimate link between the Gers vineyards and ancient civilization.
On the occasion of the ITER VITIS Meetings held in Strasbourg on June 3 and 4, 2024, an ITER VITIS delegation was received by Ambassador Pap Ndiaye, Permanent Representative of France to the Council of Europe. This institutional meeting strengthened the ties between the ITER VITIS network and the Council of Europe, reaffirming the importance of vine and wine cultural itineraries in promoting Europe’s cultural heritage.
While the preservation and enhancement of winegrowing heritage are at the heart of the association’s missions, they cannot be dissociated from a sustainable economic development approach involving the promotion of cultural tourism accessible to all.
